From slaking shadows of bolts of fabric lining Maple Street to Santee Alley emerged this series of mannequins and storefronts through blanched hues and shattered and draped window panes–behind which clothing is cut and sewn.  Each painting was initiated on city sidewalks with a canvas in one hand and charcoal on the other and were finished in the studio.

The work depicts characters who populate this historic street—in transient, spontaneous, anticipated and unexpected acts. The work explores make-believe, self-making, replication and duplicity where all starring and supporting roles are in-play.
